Like a lot of you, I started this newsletter shortly after ChatGPT launched. Generative AI felt like the beginning of something huge, so I named it Future Perfect, after the better future AI seemed to promise.

Nearly four years and 155 issues later, it’s time to close this chapter.

But I’m not going quiet… or quietly.

I’ve been spending my time building instead of writing. My day job is still practicing law, but my nights and weekends now go to making apps through Skyriven, my app development studio.

Since July 2025 I’ve shipped more than one app per month on average, including FloodRoute (real-time flooded-road alerts), Towne (a Nextdoor alternative), and Paperwing and Lunatic Fling, games for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And more are on the way.
